Oracle has confirmed it: GloriaFood reaches end of life on April 30, 2027. There is no successor product, no migration programme, and new sign-ups are already closed. If your online ordering runs on GloriaFood, you have a deadline whether you wanted one or not.

Your first move costs nothing and does not depend on choosing a replacement: export your menu, customer list, and order history from the admin panel while it still exists. After the shutdown date, anything not exported is gone permanently. Our GloriaFood switching guide has the full export checklist.

Once your data is safe, the real question is what replaces it. Here is an honest look at the Canadian landscape.

What to evaluate before you choose

GloriaFood bundled several things into one free tool: an ordering widget, QR and scheduled orders, promotions, and social ordering links. Replacing just the "Order" button still leaves your website, local SEO, delivery, and reputation to cover separately. Before comparing logos, decide what matters:

  • Who owns the customer? Does the platform hand you the customer data, or keep the relationship?
  • What is the real cost? Commissions, per-order fees, and add-on stacking versus one flat price.
  • Who does the work? A tool you configure and maintain yourself, or a service that manages it for you.
  • Canadian context. Support from a team that understands Canadian payments, delivery, and compliance realities.

The Canadian alternatives, honestly assessed

Self-serve ordering platforms

Canadian options like iOrders, UEAT, and iShopo offer commission-free or low-fee online ordering, branded ordering pages, and varying levels of delivery and marketing tooling. They are legitimate platforms, and iShopo in particular publishes transparent Canadian pricing: plans from $99 to $299 per location per month, though with monthly order caps, overage fees of $1 per order, and a listed $1,000 one-time setup fee (as of October 2026). UEAT's plans start around $99/month with implementation and processing fees on top.

The catch is in the name: self-serve. You build the ordering page, you maintain the menu, you configure the settings. If part of what you liked about GloriaFood was not thinking about the software, these platforms give you more software to think about, usually without the website or local SEO layer at all.

POS add-ons

TouchBistro and Square both offer online ordering modules attached to a point-of-sale system. If you already run that POS, the integration is convenient. But a POS add-on covers the transaction layer only: your website, search visibility, and marketing remain a separate problem you still have to solve and pay for. POS add-ons are notoriously poor for customer conversion as well, with lower order rates and smaller baskets compared to purpose-built ordering platforms.

Owner.com: the one in all the ads

If you have seen a restaurant technology ad recently, it was probably Owner.com. Credit where due: it is the closest model to a like-for-like GloriaFood replacement on the market, offering a done-for-you website, direct ordering, and marketing.

Two caveats for Canadian operators. First, it is an American platform, not a Canadian one, so support, pricing, and market assumptions are built around the US. Second, the cost is a different league: published pricing is $249/month plus a 5% restaurant fee on every order, or $499/month flat, with a reported implementation fee of roughly $1,000, and your customers pay an extra 5% "order support fee" at checkout on every order. As of October 2026, that is several times the cost of most Canadian options before you serve a single plate.

Marketplaces

Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, and similar apps are not GloriaFood replacements; they are a different business model entirely. They rent you access to their customers at roughly 30% commission per order and keep the customer relationship for themselves. Reasonable as a discovery channel, expensive as your primary ordering infrastructure.

Managed platforms

The final category is the one we built Dine Local for: the platform does the work, not you. Dine Local is $75/month for fully managed ordering, or $100/month with a fully managed website included: no setup fees, no order caps, no commissions. If you already have a website you like, we integrate ordering into it instead of rebuilding, and if you would rather run parts of it yourself, self-management is always an option. As of October 2026, that is a fraction of what the heavily advertised managed alternatives charge, and unlike them we are Canadian. We will be honest about the competitive landscape here, because it matters to your decision: in Canada, a fully managed ordering and website platform is close to a category of one.

What a full replacement actually looks like

GloriaFood users got used to a bundle. Replacing it piecemeal, one subscription for ordering, a freelancer for the website, another tool for reviews, quietly adds up to more cost and more of your time than the platform it replaces. A complete replacement covers the whole storefront:

  • Ordering: a menu we build and maintain for you, alcohol ordering with ID checks, catering and long lead-time items, scheduled and QR orders, and the ability to pause ordering any time you need a breather.
  • Pre-ordering around the clock: your ordering is open 24/7 and customers can order days in advance, with configurable pre-order windows.
  • Canadian tax handling: stacked provincial taxes and item-level tax rules, including grocery items, handled correctly out of the box.
  • Group ordering: customers share a link, everyone adds their own items, one checkout.
  • Order with Google: customers order directly from Search and Maps.
  • No app required: every restaurant gets a simple, mobile-friendly ordering link (dinelocal.at/your-restaurant). Customers are tired of downloading a branded app for every restaurant; a link that just works is how they prefer to order. And for those who do want one, you are also discoverable inside the Dine Local consumer app.
  • Independent of your POS: you are not tied to a point-of-sale system, and your ordering menu is structured for customer self-service, not staff speed. That independence is why our ordering pages drive over 300% more conversions and larger basket sizes.
  • Loyalty intel with every order: know who your customer is, how often they order, and their favourite items, built into every ticket with no separate loyalty program to run.
  • Delivery your way: self-delivery with advanced zone customization, or our fully automated dispatch with GPS tracking.
  • A managed website: built for you, or integrated with the site you already have, with business info, hours, and menus structured for local search and synced to Google.
  • Reputation management: a private feedback loop after every order plus AI-assisted Google review responses.
  • Customer notifications: SMS order updates so your guests always know where their food is.
  • Marketing: MailChimp integration, Facebook "Start Order", Instagram feed, built-in promotions and coupons, and multi-channel gift cards.
  • Room to grow: multi-location and ghost kitchen support under one account.

All of it on flat monthly pricing with zero commissions and no hidden customer service fees: $75/month for core ordering, or $100/month with the fully managed website included. There are no order caps, no per-order fees, no setup charges, and no percentage skimmed from your customers' checkout. As of October 2026, the complete package costs less per month than the entry plan of the heavily advertised US alternative. You can see current rates on our pricing page.

One honest gap: we do not operate a table reservations service. Your Dine Local site integrates with whichever online reservation platform you choose, and we will recommend one based on your volumes and requirements.

Before April 30, 2027

Three things worth putting on the calendar:

  1. Export now. Menu items and modifiers, customer database, order history, delivery zones, and promotions setup. Free insurance, available until the shutdown date only.
  2. Aim to migrate roughly six months out. That leaves real time for the menu rebuild, staff training, and running the new platform in parallel with the old one.
  3. Update every link. Your website "Order" button, Facebook and Instagram smartlinks, and every printed table QR code will all point at a dead platform the morning after the shutdown.
